Sodium Saccharin 08-12mesh

Product Description: Sodium saccharin, also known as sodium o-benzoylsulfonimide, was developed in 1879 and is the earliest synthetic non-nutritive sweetener. It has the advantages of low price, no metabolism, no energy supply, and stable properties. Soluble in water, the sweetness in dilute solution is 200~500 times that of sucrose. Saccharin Sodium is an organic compound, a food additive, and does not provide energy. It is suitable for diabetics, obese patients and the elderly.

Product Description

Sodium saccharin, scientific name o-benzoylsulfonimide sodium, chemical formula is C7H4NO3SNa, white crystalline powder. The sweetness is 200 to 500 times that of sucrose, generally 300 times, and the sweetness threshold is about 0.00048%. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, the aqueous solution is slightly alkaline. Its thermal stability in aqueous solution is better than that of saccharin, and there is no change when heated at 100 °C for 2 hours. When the aqueous solution is placed for a long time, the sweetness gradually decreases. When used together with a sour agent, the taste is refreshing and the taste is rich and sweet. When used together with other sweeteners, the sweetness is close to sugar.

Product Properties

It is colorless to white orthorhombic plate crystal or white crystalline weathered powder, odorless, sweet in dilute concentration, bitter in taste when more than 0.026%, easily soluble in water, insoluble in absolute ethanol. Good stability, no fermentation, no discoloration, no heat, weak heat and alkali resistance, the solution can be decomposed when boiled and the sweetness is weakened, and the sweetness disappears when heated under acidic conditions, and it has persistent bitterness when used alone.

Application areas

As a synthetic sweetener, sodium saccharin is mainly used in pickles, fruit juices, candied fruit, and prepared wine. ingredients. In addition, it can also be used as a brightening agent for electroplating nickel-chromium, a blood circulation measuring agent, a penetrant, etc., and has a wide range of uses.
